More Cosmetology ~_~

Hi and welcome back to my blog! I know I haven't blogged a lot since I started Cosmetology. Forgive me ~_~.

I've been so busy with work and classes so blogging is going to be a little slow. Sometimes I'm an over achiever so yeah.

I learned that I won't be out on the floor until December unless we get delayed for  missed hours. :(

Classes have started to get more hands on after the 3rd and 4th day.

So far I have learned to do simple manicures and spa manicures. We've done eath others nails. From regular polish to french tips. We've also done some nail art design but the instructor does not teach it. She only provides the tools and you can look off of magazines to copy the designs.

We also learned to do regular pedicures and spa pedicures. Lots and lots of feet for 2 days.

For the majority of this week we have started on Acrylics. We've started on doing structures which is basically forming a nail out of acrylics.

My experience: I am terrible at forming a smooth and beautiful nail.

Waking up at 7 in the morning is so tiring. I'm not a fan of waking up early T_T. It makes me sag. Lolz.

I told myself that I would upload up some pictures of my recent portraits but I got lazy. Forgive me?

I will get to posting some soon. Look out for it!

Feel free to leave comments and questions! ^_^ Thank you for reading

Yee! OPI and Pivot Point Kits!

Hi guys and welcome back to my blog! Life has been a little hectic these days with all the work I have to do and entering my cosmetology classes!

You'll learn that I like to whine after you get to know me. >_<

Today sort of felt like Christmas since all the students in cosmetology got to open all the nail and hair kits to mark out names on the products and sort them and put them away.

That isn't my photos but once I get to take all the products home I will take a picture of everything that I got so you guys can see.

We received a roll-about that is around 4-5 foot long filled with hair related products like shears, bottles, clips, bobby pins, etc in the roll-about.

I also received one big box of nail products that came from OPI. It contained everything for manicures and pedicures. From nail polishes, to massage lotion, cuticle cream, gel nails, wraps, acrylics, etc.

There was also a big box from Pivot Point. It contained 2 female manikin heads, 1 male head with a beard(lolz), lots of wigs for the manikins, around 6-9 of them.

We also received curling irons, flat irons, blow dryers, and 2 electric shavers to cut male hairs (I have no idea what it's called T_T).

After getting the kit put away we started on more rules of the classroom. >_<

We don't get to take any of the stuff home *sad face*.

That was about all that we did for the day. There's a lot of nice people in the classroom that I got to know which was a plus.

I am just waiting for the days to pass fast fast fast!

Heading to bed so I'll blog more tomorrow!

The Start Of My Cosmetology Classes! @_@

Hello to all my readers! Thanks for following and reading! I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you!

In one of my previous posts I stated that I am starting cosmetology soon and I just did today!

In the past I tried to search on the web for information and the process of getting a cosmetology degree in Kansas. I heard that getting a cosmetology degree in kansas is the hardest since you can't buy hours. I didn't find anything so I just decided that I will blog info about my experience.

The fees are awfully heavy for this class so make sure you have enough funds or ways of paying before enrolling in this course!

I think I will start by ranting a little or a lot.

After attending this class for the first time I just felt very exhausted.

Here's how the day kind of went out.

The class starts at 8 a.m. sharp after everyone clocks in on time.

We then talked about rules for the rest of the class period for approximately 7.5 hours.

Lunch starts at 12 and you need to clock in at or before 12:30 p.m.

Everyone clocked out at 4 p.m. sharp.

So it was basically sitting on my butt for the whole day.

Rules

There are approximately 1500 hours needed in order to finish cosmetology and receive a certificate according to kansas law.

You need at least 350 hours of class time to learn the basics before you can start on customers.

If you are even on minute late you have to clock out and immediately leave school.

There are a total of 4 cosmetology class sections

Cos I
Cos II
Cos III
Cos IV

You may miss no more than 25 hours per cosmetology class section. Any more than you have to pay for all the class costs for the cosmetology kit and the class fees before leaving cosmetology. You may enroll again next starting season (august of next year) and start all over again until you reach where you left off. You have to once again pay for class fees and a new cosmetology kit if needed. The kits generally cost $1400 and only contains hair and nail products. For makeup you have to buy them yourself since I did not see any in the kit. The nail stuff come from OPI and the hair stuff come from Pivot Point.

You have to bring money to pay for your apprentice license on the first day since it is required so that you can start studying and practicing.

Once finished you have to take a written and practical(hands on) test. Practical is in Kansas and written in any facility that provides it of your choice.

CLASSROOM:

Must be in uniform at all times. White shirt with sleeve and black pants (no jeans) and black smock. T_T

Oh the life of a cosmetologist >_<.

That's about it if I remember anymore than I will post it!

I was late by a minute back to class since the lunch is only 30 minutes and driving back and forth took up all my time.

Tomorrow we will be opening the kits with all the supplies to practice. We cannot take the kits home unfortunately. I know that this is a lot of work and long hours but it's going to be worth it! Let's work and fight together! ^_^

That's it for now! Thanks for reading! If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Waterfairy99 @ gmail dot com

I will try my best to answer it for you!

Review: Bride Of The Water God by Yun Mi-Kyung

Hi guys!

There's a current manhwa (korean version of manga) that I am totally obsessed about!!! Has anyone read Bride of The Water God by Yun Mi-kyung?

Synopsis

"When Soah's impoverished, desperate village decides to sacrifice her to the Water God Habaek to end a long drought, they believe that drowning one beautiful girl will save their entire community and bring much-needed rain. Not only is Soah surprised to be rescued by the Water God-instead of killed-she never imagined she'd be a welcomed guest in Habaek's magical kingdom, where an exciting new life awaits her! Most surprising, however, is the Water God himself... and how very different he is from the monster Soah imagined." -- Animea.net

You can read it the the link below! It's where I read this manga from since it's just so long.

http://manga.animea.net/the-bride-of-the-water-god.html

There are currently 104 chapters out!

My review

Pros:

The art is just spectacular!
Everything is so detailed!
You can see what I mean when you start reading this manhwa!

Cons:

The only thing that this manhwa lacks is a greater plot. The plot is really draggy and I'm not a fan of  draggy plots. This could of been finished at the greatest 100 chapters but it's still ongoing. You see my point?

Updates from this story takes forever to come out in english!

All-in-all

The beautiful art really helps the plot so I really recommend reading this! When I read this manhwa it's always very dramatic

Examples from the Manhwa:

Beautiful art right? Get to reading it guys! See you next time!

Review: Kodak C183, Kodak Rechargeable AA Batteries,Charger

Alright guys, I recently purchased the Kodak C183 from Wal-Mart for 50 dollars plus tax.

It is in black and with 14 megapixels.

It takes very high quality pictures. I love the fact that it can lighten up the environment and zoom in to multiple degrees. I guess this is because of the batteries. The pictures take can be comparable to photos from the Sony Cybershot.

I love the fact that the pictures that I take are so HQ! They look more amazingly clear than the camera on my phone! Even the Ipod Touch I have doesn't take pictures as high quality as this camera does!

One of the disadvantages for the Kodak C183 is that it uses batteries. How is that for a turndown?

The batteries don't last for very long, maybe a couple hours. I used it for around an hour and the battery started to decrease by almost half.

I've found a solution to the whole battery problem. After searching around on ebay, I found out about rechargeable batteries. I wouldn't have to buy so many batteries if I just order the rechargeable batteries online with a recharger.

After going around the camera section in Wal-Mart I found a box set with rechargeable batteries and charger for Kodak AA batteries.

I don't know if I have a defective battery and I haven't yet time to go and buy another set and see if it's the batteries or the camera.

After using the rechargeable batteries for 2 days the battery stops charging. I'm assured that the battery stopped charging and the charger is no problem, still works fine.

I bought 2 sets of AA rechargeable kodak batteries that both died after I charged them 2 times for 2 days taking them out after the light turned off!

I've stopped using the camera because I really don't have that kind of money to keep replacing the batteries.

I've read up on the camera and many people say that the lenses are a major issue being that they sometimes don't close. This is not a problem for me since the lenses on my Kodak C183 is working perfectly fine.

The biggest problem is just the batteries!

It's a great camera for beginners though.

Pros

Creates great outdoor photos
High Quality Photos
Face Detection
Face Tagging
Face Recognition
Keyword Tagging
Easy to Share
Great Look

Cons

Can't take great close up photos
Poor battery life
Heavier than other digital cameras

I give it a 3/5.

Will I buy this camera again? No. The Kodak C183 is not being used because I'm not willing to buy anymore batteries.

Thank you for reading and continue to stay tuned for more posts!

A Little About Me ♥

This post is dedicated to my little chihuahua!

I have a little chihuahua that looks older than his age named Bibi.

Isn't he just a darling *laughs*. He's a very picky eater. Sometimes I don't even know what to feed him T_T.

Bibi is crazy hyper all day everyday. I don't know where he gets all the energy since he doesn't eat a lot.

You see the problem right?

Enough about him.

My name is Thuy and I makeup, fashion, anything orient, Victorian fashion, reading, writing, blogging (obviously right?), nail designs, drawing portrait, anime, manga, ♥ traveling, food, hairstyling and lots of other things!

I spent 2 years getting a Business degree before realizing I wanted to be a cosmetologist!

That's where I am now.

I wanted to start this blog so that I can write down my experience and post lots of pictures from my experience in Cosmetology class.

I live in a really small town so no targets, Macy's, big k, etc. Sad right? T_T The only thing I have here is Wal-mart. >_<.
If any of you recognize the name FairyWater than you would probably know that I used to write a lot of fanfiction. I don't now, but hey I might in the future! IF I can find the time! I love writing♥.

I love anything comedy related so feel free to post all funny videos, pictures, etc that you want me to see!
I've watched this video 5 times + and it still makes me laugh so take a look!

That about wraps it all up. I will try to post funny stuff I find too!

Remember to laugh and have fun everyday!

Thanks for reading!

My Gyaru Obsession ♥♥♥

Hello!

I'm posting about Gyaru's today!

Gyaru is basically a word meaning Gal in english

Accord to Wiki, "Gyaru (ギャル?) is a Japanese transliteration of the English word gal, that of girl being gaaru (ガール?). The name originated from a 1970s brand of jeans called "gals", with the advertising slogan: "I can't live without men", and was applied to fashion- and peer-conscious girls in their teens and early twenties. Its usage peaked in the 1980s and has gradually declined. The term gradually drifted to apply to a younger group, whose seeming lack of interest in work or marriage gained the word a "childish" image. It is now used almost interchangeably with kogyaru."

My definition of Gyaru = a girl who loves to party, loves makeup, love fahion and doesn't care about standing out and doesn't care about getting married or working. Lolz.

I recently started to follow the Gyaru trend even though it's been here for a while! I love the fashion that Gyaru's have! From the big doll eyes to the beautiful big hair and the cute outfits!

After seeing Tsubasa Masuwaka and the dolly wink collection I'm a total fan!

I really want some dolly winks! >_< I wish I have a popteen magazine to read from!!!
